At our recent holiday to Vanuatu safety is very different.
One morning I went for a run, not recommended since the foot path are very narrow and there’s plenty of foot traffic and the pollution is high right next to the road. Also running is not a thing in Port Vila at least, and every one looks at you like you’re from the moon but in a friendly way, because all the Islanders are really friendly!
Since I was running when most people were on their way to work I realised that employers who need workers get a truck with a tray and pick all workers up in the morning and everyone rides on the back of the truck. The same applies when people pickup goods etc where the cargo is loaded and the workers sit on it during transport, certainly very efficient but maybe not that safe!
